10 years ago today, the Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission was launched to study the physics of magnetic reconnection in space. A year later in 2016, it broke a world record for the highest altitude fix of a GPS signal when it was 43,500 miles above Earth's surface. This record was recently broken by the Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment (LuGRE) aboard the Blue Ghost lander. On March 3, LuGRE acquired GPS signals from the Moon!
